10:00: Introduction

10:05: What is eBird?, Chris Wood (Cornell Lab of Ornithology eBird Project Leader)
Chris Wood will present an overview of what eBird is in terms of design and approach, and more importantly, what it is capable of doing with observations submitted by participants to inform bird conservation.

11:00: Using eBird day-to-day, Darrin O'Brien
Darrin O'Brien will present examples of how he uses eBird to track the results of his birding activities.

11:30: The Michigan Seasonal Bird Survey & the Michigan Bird Records Committee: An untapped data source for bird conservation in Michigan, Caleb Putnam (Michigan Important Bird Areas Program Coordinator)
Caleb Putnam will show how the Michigan Audubon Society Bird Records Committee looks over eBird for the evaluation and documentation of significant bird sightings and how the seasonal survey compilers are now using eBird to help complete coverage.

Richard Wolinski will show examples from Livingston County and southeast Michigan.

1:30: Interactive eBird workshop, David Cuthrell (Michigan Natural Features Inventory Conservation Scientist) and Richard Wolinski (Michigan Department of Transportation Wildlife Ecologist)
Dave Cuthrell and Richard Wolinski will lead exercises to familiarize participants, both active eBirders and those eager to learn, by use of the online web connection to enter and review observation sin real time. Have your questions answered and learn with the rest of us as we use eBird with plenty of time to explore and share.
